Berwyn’s Best Burger 2016
The Berwyn Development Corporation’s (BDC) Berwyn’s Best competition began in early May and was fixed on finding the best local specialty burger. The beef-and-bun combo that walked home the winner was Cigars and Stripes BBQ Lounge (6715 W Ogden Ave; ) for its Backyard Burger. The burger is an 8 oz. flame-cooked patty on a toasted brioche bun made with a touch of their own home-smoked, burnt rib tip ends and topped with iceberg lettuce, tomato, red onion and sweet n’ hot pickles. You can also add bleu, white cheddar or habanero and ghost cheese. As one judge commented, “It tastes like summer. I really enjoyed the “build–your-own” options.”

Big Guy Burger: A hand-packed burger made fresh daily with their own special blend of whole cuts of meat. It’s served on a brioche bun with American cheese, Thousand Island dressing, shoestring fried onions and kosher pickles.
