Patio Season is Upon Us: How to make the most of Berwyn’s Outdoor Dining
A warm day in Our Fair City isn’t easy to come by with most of the year being, let’s face it, winter. The official start date for summer season was June 21 and the end date is September 23, but we all know you cannot count on those dates in our climate. However, what you can count on is Berwyn’s plentiful outdoor dining establishments. One of the best this about summer is patio season and if you’re going to make the most of your summer, you can’t waist anymore time! Get out there and dine al fresco in Berwyn! We’ve saved you from the work of searching and studying reviews and put together your ultimate guide.
First up is the ever popular Lavergne’s Tavern. Known for their diverse yet familiar menu (i.e. their masterful Italian Beef eggrolls), Lavergne’s tavern is also serving up some serious outdoor atmosphere. Dine in, or should I say dine out, and feast your eyes on their mural courtesy of the Berwyn Public Art Initiative and Brazilian artist Cranio (also known as Fabio de Oliveira Parnaiba). With the addition of their amazing drink list and plenty of popular beers on tap, this place truly has everything you need for summer dining.
Berwyn wouldn’t be Berwyn without Cigars & Stripes BBQ Lounge. Always doing their part in “Keeping Berwyn Weird” Cigars & Stripes offers up plenty of horror movie nostalgia, a fully stocked cigar shop, Chicagoland’s longest running ‘Open Mic Comedy Night”, heavenly smoked meats, and of course a killer patio! This outdoor dining space boasts ample shade from the sun and the coolest vibes. Head inside to catch more Route 66 vibes where you’ll see custom motorcycles and dragster on display.
