Berwyn’s Best Seafood
Owner Jerry Hernandez reacted to the award saying, “We are thrilled to add a third “Berwyn’s Best” title to our list at Lavergne’s Tavern—Cocktail, 2016; Egg Dish, 2017; and now Seafood, 2018! Our team works hard to invent cocktails and dishes that are not only delicious, but also creative and that people will love. Our Mexican Scallops are inspired by the “eloteros” that push their carts in the hot summer months in Chicago. It’s a lot of fun taking something people are familiar with and elevating it with ingredients that you may have never thought would pair well— in this case, a variation of elotes and fresh scallops.”

OCTOPUS “GALLEGO STYLE”:Wood-grilled octopus served with capers, cherry tomatoes, green beans, sherry vinaigrette & pimenton (smoked paprika).
MAYOR LANZILLOTTI SPECIAL: Shrimp, vongole, squid, cozze & broccoli over linguini with choice of white or red sauce.
SALMON TROPICAL: salmon fillet with mango-buttered sauce, topped with mango pico de gallo. Served with rice and vegetables
MEXICAN SCALLOPS:Chile-lime dusted seared scallops with corn esquites, queso fresco, micro cilantro, and lime wedge.
LEVANTAMUERTOS: Spicy Nayarit Style platter of prawns, mussels, octopus, crab legs, shrimp and surimi. Served over a bed of onions with lime and orange garnish.
