Berwyn's elementary and middle school children are served by two public school districts, Districts North Berwyn School District 98 and South Berwyn School District 100, which administer the city's nine elementary schools and three middle schools. Both districts are committed to providing a quality education and preparing children for the demands of high school and a future that almost certainly entails increasingly sophisticated IT and computer-driven technologies.

Smart Technology

The 2009 - 2010 school year saw the launch of a SmartTechnology pilot program in District 100 schools. By year's end, all eight District 100 schools had SmartBoards - interactive, internet-enabled, wireless teaching slates that replace traditional chalkboards and increase student engagement in the learning process.  Due to the success of the pilot program, additional funding is being gathered to expand the availability of this technology into more and more classrooms in the upcoming school years, including a recent 2011 announcement that Berwyn will receive a bump in state aid.

In addition to the public schools, three private schools - St. Odilo School, St. Leonard School and The Children's School - serve the needs of Berwyn's elementary and middle school children as well.
